Dr. Scott Schlachter received his undergraduate degree from The University of Delaware in 1987 and then earned his degree in Medicine from the University of Health Sciences in 1991. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Seton Hall University where he was the Chief Medical Resident followed by a Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 1998.
Board Certified in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Internal Medicine, he is a member of numerous Gastroenterology societies including The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, The American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Schlachter is proficient in all advanced endoscopic gastrointestinal and biliary procedures and is a strong advocate of colorectal cancer screening and prevention. He has been practicing high-quality Gastroenterology here at the Jersey Shore for the last 18 years and has been the Outstanding Teaching Attending of the Year at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he helps train tomorrow’s physicians. He was named a “NJ Top Doc” in 2017 and 2018.
He enjoys music, baseball, classic cars, traveling and spending time with his wife and 2 daughters.
